A retail industry veteran and visionary, and former President and COO of SUPERVALU, Mike Jackson is a Logile Advisory Board member.
From his deep experience, Mike understands the issues and challenges facing retail. During his career at SUPERVALU, Mike served the company in many key assignments that included Northwest Regional President, Senior VP of Retail Food Operations, EVP and President of Retail Food Companies and his last position as President/COO of SUPERVALU. He also held numerous positions in his early career that included responsibilities in merchandising, operations and procurement as well as managing several retail supermarkets prior to joining SUPERVALU. Since his retirement from SUPERVALU in late 2009, Mike has been actively involved in his support for industry organizations and causes. He serves on the boards of Northgate Gonzalez Markets and iControl as well as doing work for nonprofit organizations in the central Florida area where he resides.
Mike is an accomplished executive with leadership in retail operations, marketing and logistics. He is strategic, innovative, analytical and decisive with strong mentoring, talent development and change management capabilities. Mike is known in the industry for his visionary thoughts and how retail stores should transform to compete effectively in the marketplace such as streamlining operational planning, integrating operational and merchandizing planning, and recognizing the need for accurate daily forecasting. Mike is committed to life-long learning. He is accomplishment driven and a collaborative leader that builds rapport with all stakeholders for effectiveness.
Mike’s leadership and executive guidance is a key support to Logile’s transformation from a strong Workforce and Execution Management provider of software and consulting services to become an even more significant player with an even larger industry footprint in the retail software and solution marketplace. His insight inform Logile’s perceptions of the retail industry needs for the development, messaging, and marketing of Logile’s significant capacities in software, industrial engineering services, and store operations expertise. In addition to his business acumen, Mike brings strong coaching skills with organizational dynamics to Logile that supports the senior management team at Logile.
Mike holds a degree in Management and Accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay where he also serves as a trustee. Mike also completed the Wharton School’s executive management program at the University of Pennsylvania.
A seasoned retail executive and educator – Lynn Olsen, Ph.D. – CEO and Principal Consultant of The Innovation Group, Inc., is an Advisory Board member of Logile, Inc.
Lynn has a unique range of executive leadership experience in retail operations, merchandising, strategy, leadership development, and leading large-scale change. He provides thought leadership on a broad range of complex issues with a strong focus on comprehensive and cost-effective solutions. Lynn advises executives and leadership teams in the retail, manufacturing, professional services, and healthcare industries.
Prior to founding The Innovation Group in 2010, he was Corporate Vice President of Retail Operations at SUPERVALU. His industry career spanned four decades in management across many roles at all levels. During 12 years on the Corporate Retail senior staff, Lynn led a series of strategic retail operations and merchandising improvement initiatives across SUPERVALU’s retail companies. His Business Change teams designed and implemented streamlined business processes, new staffing designs, and related technology, data management, and reporting tools in collaboration with their Information Technology and Supply Chain Services colleagues.
Lynn has long been active in industry affairs. He is an Advisory Board member of IRD Glass, a precision glass and ceramics manufacturer serving the Defense, Medical and Commercial industries. He previously served on the University of Minnesota Food Industry Center Program Board of Advisors and was a contributor to the industry’s seminal Category Management development initiatives. He is a currently a member of the International Leadership Association, the Minnesota Organization Development Network, the Minnesota Change Management Network and the Association of Change Management Professionals.
As an educator, Lynn has been on the adjunct faculty at the University of St. Thomas (MN) Opus College of Business since 1999, working exclusively with graduate and executive education students. He is co-lead faculty for The Leadership & Management program as well as teaching courses in Strategy & Marketing. As a mentor, he serves as a trusted advisor and coach to both Executive MBA students and his client companies’ leaders. He also serves St. Thomas as a member of the University Technology Advisory Committee.
As a scholar, Lynn holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from Cardinal Stritch University, an MBA from the University of St. Thomas, and a Ph.D. in Leadership and Change from Antioch University, where his doctoral research centered on the unique demands and leader development needs involving business turnaround leadership.
